Admission Procedure

Applicants willing for admission in the Bangalore city have to appear in the entrance exam. Through entrance exam, the state admission authority will provide the admission in the engineering courses. The admissions will be offered on the basis of candidate’s rank obtained in the exam. Some universities conducted its own examination for admissions.

Applicants can also apply for admission on the basis of merit list of the qualifying examination. Seats will be allotted to candidates on the basis of rank in the merit list, filled choices and availability of seats in colleges. After seat allocation, candidates will have to report to the allotted college to complete admission process.

Entrance Exams

Applicants can appear in the JEE Main national level entrance exam to get admission in the engineering course. The state authority will also conduct the state level entrance exam by the name of Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET). The exam is organized by the Karnataka Examinations Authority. The admissions in the B.Tech courses will also be offered through COMEDK UGET. For admission in M.Tech programmes candidates must have the valid GATE score card.

Applicants willing to apply in B.Tech courses must fulfill the eligibility criteria to sit in the written examination.

  • Applicants must be the India citizen.
  • Applicants should pass the Intermediate or its equivalent examination with Physics, Mathematics and any one (Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational) Subjects.
  • Applicants should have obtained 45% marks (40% marks for reserved category candidates) in the qualifying exam.
  • Appearing candidates are also eligible to apply.

Selection Procedure

The counseling will be conducted either online or offline mode depending upon the exam conducting authority. Applicants have to register for the counselling in the respective website of entrance exam. The counselling procedure will be comprised of document verification, filing of course and college preference and seat allotment. At the time of counselling, candidates have to verify their documents, fill their choice of courses & colleges and payment of the counselling fee.

After successful completion of the counselling, the seats will be allotted to the candidates according to their ranks in the merit list and availability of seats. After seat allotment, candidates have to report the allotted college to complete the admission formalities.
