Admission Procedure

Various colleges and institutions of Punjab give admissions through national level or university level examinations. In case of vacant seats, spot admissions will also be done on the basis of merit list. No state level entrance is organized for B. Tech admissions.

Entrance Exams

Applicants can apply for admission in engineering courses on the basis of JEE Main scores. JEE Main 2024 is a national level entrance, which is conducted by (NTA) National Testing Agency for admission in B. Tech & B. Arch programmes.

Lovely Professional University organizes its own entrance test (LPU NEST 2024) for admission in engineering courses. Punjab Technical University (PTU 2024) also offer admission through JEE Main & inter-se-merit. For admission in IIT-Ropar, candidates must qualify the JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2024 both exams.

B. Tech Admission 2024

Before applying for admission, students must check their eligibility for the respective course. The eligibility criteria for JEE Main exam is mentioned below:

• Applicants who have passed 12^th or equivalent are eligible to apply.
• Diploma holders are also eligible to apply.
• Applicants must have physics, chemistry and mathematics subjects in the qualifying exam.
• Applicants appearing in the qualifying exam can also apply.
• There is no age limit prescribed to apply for JEE Main 2024 exam.

Selection Procedure

Admissions will be done on the basis of merit list. Merit will be prepared on the basis marks secured in the entrance test or the qualifying exam. Preference will be given to those candidates who secure higher rank in the merit list. Applicants have to fill their choices of colleges and courses during the counselling process. Seat allotment will be done as per the rank, filled choices, category and availability of seats.

1. 10^th class mark sheet & passing certificate
2. 10+2 mark sheet & passing certificate
3. Rank card & hall ticket of entrance exam (if any)
4. Category certificate (if required)

6. Domicile certificate (for state quota).
