The (National Entrance Screening Test) or NEST is a compulsory test for admission to the 5-year Integrated MSc Programme in basic sciences – Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics – at National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and the University of Mumbai – Department of atomic energy Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS), Mumbai. Both NISER and CBS are autonomous institutions established by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India, in 2007.

NEST 2024 Exam:

The NEST 2024 exam is going to be conducted on first June 2024. based on the performance in NEST 2024, a common Merit List of the candidates is going to be prepared and posted on the NEST 2024 web site.

The successful candidates are going to be called for counseling and admission are going to be strictly according to the merit List till all the seats are filled. A separate merit list for various class candidates is going to be made available before counseling.

NEST Exam Centres:

NEST 2024 is going to be conducted at sixty centers across the country in more than one hundred venues. Candidates ought to mention their choice of NEST exam center so as to their preference while filling out NEST 2024 form. Each candidate is allowed to select 2 centers at the time of filling the application form.

They can also pick 2 centers from the same city, like Delhi-East and Delhi-North. The exam conducting authority would allocate the NEST 2024 exam Center as per the choice of the candidate.

NEST 2024 Exam Pattern:

NEST 2024 is going to be conducted in pen and paper-based mode. There are five Sections in total in the NEST exam – one General section obligatory for all the candidates and four subject sections namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. All the queries are going to be within the Multiple choice queries format. The syllabus for NEST 2024 is based on the information of class XI and XII as prescribed by CBSE.

Instructions Concerning NEST Exam Pattern:

Applicants should reach the test center a minimum of half an hour before the start of the examination; the examination is of 3½ hrs length and will start at 09.30 am.
Applicants won’t be allowed to enter the examination hall after 10.00 am; the earliest an applicant will leave the examination hall is 10.30 am unless it becomes necessary to leave before on medical grounds.
The earliest one will carry the question paper out is 11.30 a.m., use of log tables and calculators within the exam hall isn’t allowed.
Applicants should bring their own pen, pencils (HB), eraser, and sharpener; exchange/ sharing of these things with different candidates is strictly prohibited.
Applicants should bring their Admit Card and their school photo identity card or any photo-ID issued by Govt. agencies to the examination hall.
Any applicant found adopting unfair means that are going to be expelled from the examination hall without warning; mobile phones and different similar electronic gadgets are strictly not allowed within an exam hall.
