NEST Syllabus: The (National Entrance Screening Test) or NEST is a compulsory test for admission to the 5-year Integrated MSc Syllabus in basic sciences – Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics – at National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and the University of Mumbai – Department of atomic energy Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS), Mumbai. Each NISER and CBS are autonomous establishments established by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India, in 2007.
All the candidates admitted to 5-year Integrated MSc program at NISER and CBS are eligible for INSPIRE, Govt. of India, the scholarship of ₹5,000/- per month, and ₹20,000/- per year for carrying out summer projects.
NEST 2021 Syllabus:
Questions in NEST 2021 are mainly based on the NCERT/ CBSE science syllabus of class XI and XII. However, NISER and UM-DAE CBS of Mumbai University have provided a detailed NEST 2021 syllabus. Candidates are recommended to go through each topic of NEST syllabus thoroughly so as to perform well within the MSc entrance exam.

The aim is to test the candidate’s aptitude for a career in science.
Questions are designed to test the candidate’s familiarity with a major historical milestone in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, computer science, and the environment.
There will be some queries designed to test the grasp of mathematics up to class ten and application capabilities of a similar to simple problems.
Some queries during this section are designed to test the candidate’s general ability to compared qualitative aspects of a given scientific topic and queries based on the concepts elaborated within the passage are asked.
Some queries are set to test whether the candidates can interpret the graphical representation of information.

NEST 2021 Exam Pattern:
NEST 2021 is going to be conducted in pen and paper-based mode. There are five Sections in total in the NEST exam – one General section obligatory for all the candidates and four subject sections namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. All the queries are going to be within the Multiple choice queries format. The syllabus for NEST 2021 is based on the information of class XI and XII as prescribed by CBSE.
