OTET 2024 Eligibility Criteria:

OTET is going to be applicable to all candidates who will possess requisite academic and coaching qualifications with requisite percentage of marks and to all candidates following the final year of the teacher training courses before the date of publication of advertisement for conducting OTET who can aspire to become lecturers for classes I to VIII within the schools of the State Govt., private aided schools and private unaided schools within the State of Odisha.

However, the candidates aspiring to seek employment as teachers in private unaided schools shall even have the option of appearing at the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted by Central Govt. through CBSE, if they so need. The candidates once being qualified in OTET can also apply for any improvement. Persons having the following minimum qualifications shall be eligible for appearing in OTET.

Category-A (Paper- I):
Higher Secondary (+2 or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (CT). OR
Higher Secondary (+2 or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 2-year diploma in Education (Special Education). OR
Graduation and a 2-year diploma in Elementary Education/ 2-year diploma in education.

Category-B (Paper-II):
Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). OR
Graduation with 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed.(Special Education). OR
Higher Secondary (+2 or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and 4-year B.A.Ed./ B.Sc.Ed.
Provided that relaxation 50% minimum qualifying marks in +2 or graduation level, because the case could also be, shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC/ SEBC class.
