UGC NET 2023 Eligibility Criteria:

The candidates should check their eligibility criteria before filling the application form and on the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA), the eligibility criteria details are going to be available. Academic Qualification:
Applicants should have a minimum of 55% in master’s degree or equivalent examination from UGC recognized universities/colleges.
50% marks needed for candidates belonging to OBC non-creamy layer / SC / ST / PWD class.
Transgender candidates will be eligible to have qualifying criteria similar to SC / ST / PWD categories.
Candidates pursuing a master’s degree or have appeared for the final exam and waiting for their result can also apply. Such candidates are going to be provisionally admitted and can be eligible for JRF. To be eligible for help professor they’ll need to qualify a master’s degree with the needed percentage according to the category. Candidates can need to complete their master’s degree within 2 years of the declaration of the UGC NET result.
Candidates with a ph.D. degree whose master’s test was completed by 19th Sept1991 are going to be eligible for a relaxation of fifty in aggregate marks.
Students are advised to apply for the NET test for the subject they have completed their graduation. If the subject isn’t available to select a subject similar to it.

Age Limit:
Following is the minimum age limit needed to apply for Professor & Junior Research Fellowship.

Assistant Professor:
There is no age limit set for applying for the assistant professor.
Candidates are going to be eligible for the post assistant professor if they with success qualify NET/SLET/SET exam.
Candidates with a ph.D. degree in accordance with University Grants Commission is going to be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of assistant professor in Universities/ Colleges/ institutions.
Candidates, who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (SET) accredited by UGC for eligibility for assistant professor held before first June 2002, are exempted from appearing in NET.


Junior Research Fellowship:
The age of the candidates mustn’t be more than twenty-eight years as of 1st Jan 2023.
There will be an age relaxation of up to five years for candidates belonging to SC/ST, OBC- NCL, and PWD category and also to girls candidates.
Candidates with analysis experience limited to the period spent on research within the relevant/related subject of post-graduation degree, subject to most of five years on the production of a certificate from an appropriate authority.
Candidates having an L.L.M degree are going to be eligible for three-year age relaxation.
