Her father, who was concerned in Albanian-community politics in Macedonia, died in 1919 once she was eight years previous. Teresa had an attack in Rome in 1983 whereas she was visiting Pope John Paul II. Following the second attack in 1989, she received a man-made pacemaker. In 1991, when a bout of pneumonia in Mexico, she had further heart issues. though Mother Teresa offered to resign as head of the Missionaries of Charity, in a secret ballot the sisters of the congregation voted for her to remain and he or she united to continue.
