Full-Form of FTII, Film and Television Institute of India is an independent institute under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting by the Govt. of India and look after by the Central Govt. of India. Since 1960 the FTII is situated in Pune at the place of erstwhile Prabhat Film Company. FTII has become India’s leading film and television institute because of his former students becoming actors and directors and many more grades in the film and television industry.
The Film and Television Institute of India is planned for a new younger generation of story writers or tellers, visual artist, performing artist who is passionate about the career in films and television and wants to learn to do their projects. Applicant appearing for Full Form of FTII is in a very limited number of a seat in each class to give individual and interaction with every applicant. For personal development and learning the applicants are encouraged to meet individually for consultation and creating the environment throughout the course.
FTII celebrated guests from the film, television, and media industries are also invited regularly to share their experience and knowledge with the students. FTII is also a member of the International Liaison Centre of Schools of Cinema and Television (CILECT), which is an organization of the world’s leading schools of film and television.

History of FTII:
The Full Form of FTII Film and Television Institute of India was established in the year 1960 which was located at the Mandi House in New Delhi. In 1974 the FTII was shifted in Pune at erstwhile Prabhat Film Company bringing both pieces of training together in Film and Television in one roof. The FTII, Film and Television Institute of India is an independent institute under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting by the Govt. of India and look after by the Central Govt. of India. Shri. Gajendra Chauhan takes charge as Chairman on 7th Jan 2016 by FTII Society, and Governing Council held on 7th Jan 2016. The FTII student’s films have always made their name and impressions and have won several awards at the various film festivals and many other programs held in India and abroad.

FTII Management:
The FTII, Film and Television Institute of India is an independent institute under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting by the Govt. of India and look after by the Central Govt. of India. The FTII is registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. The FTII society is controlled by a president who also functions as the Chairman of the Governing Council who is a famous personality from the film and television world. The (GC) Governing Council is selected by-election from the members of society.
The GC is responsible for making all the main decisions of the FTII Institute. The GC appoints the Academic Council (AC) and the Standing Finance Committee (SFC) who are responsible for advising the FTII in policy matters related to academic affairs and financial matters. Shri. Gajendra Chauhan takes charge as Chairman on 7th Jan 2016 by FTII Society, and Governing Council held on 7th Jan 2016.

FTII Infrastructure:
The Full Form of FTII Film and Television Institute of India has an excellent campus with Sports, Games Facilities, Screening, Video Library, and Multimedia library. FTII is well equipped with very latest and advanced equipment. There are two studios for films with a space of 175ft x 80ft, and the other is 97ft x 51ft respectively.
The FTII has much more equipment such as Video cameras from the lower end to higher end digitals models, four nos. of 16mm cameras, four nos. of 35 mm cameras for shooting purpose and HMI types of lights. The Film and Television Institute of India has a well-equipped sound department. The sound Department also has the Harrison audio mixing console, and it also consists of nagas and a special sound dubbing studio with a rock-n-roll projection facility.
Now on the Television side, there are two television studios with a space of 60ft x 40ft and 50ft x 40ft with the art facilities. They are also fitted with motorized lighting systems, computer-driven Martin special effect facilities and follow sports. One of the studios is fitted with a digital broadcast-quality studio camera chain. There is a computer laboratory which is fully equipped with the latest software for the student.
There is a library house also which consists of a very extensive collection of books related to films, television, theatre, arts, literature, and media related periodicals and journals from India and Abroad. The Full Form of FTII has well designed Graphic Department with O2 silicon facilities for the student to make their work easier. It also has a video library that is well recognized for the collection of all types of films and videos from across the whole world.
