Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, Campus, Research, Admission, Ranking

Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad is situated in Sangareddy district, Telangana, India and also it is public engineering and research institute. The Ministry of Human Resource Development has established eight IITs from which IIT-Hyderabad is one of them. It is established under the Institute of Technology Act,2011 which was passed on 24th March in Lok Sabha and on 30^th April 2012 in Rajya Sabha.

Hyderabad has 474 Ph.D. students, 395 Masters, 826 Undergraduate and also 142 full-time faculty. In July 2015 all the administrative operations and academics were transfer at the permanent campus at Kandi, Sangareddy and also some students stay at a temporary campus in the Ordnance Factory, Medak. By the start of the academic year 2017 the applicant was supposed to shift to the permanent campus. Based on the rankings of MHRD in 2016 the IIT-Hyderabad is the seventh premier institute among all the Technical Institute.

Campus and location for IIT Hyderabad:

On 18 August 2008 Hyderabad initiate the beginning of functioning at the temporary campus at Ordnance Factory Medak also the permanent campus of IIT-Hyderabad is situated at Kandi near Sangareddy which is very close to Outer Ring Road. It is located on NH-65. In July 2015  most of its operations shifted to the permanent campus.
By the initiate of the academic year, 2017 10 functioning hostel buildings and three academic blocks will be constructed. Through internal transportation, hostels are connected to the main gate of the institute.

Academics for IIT Hyderabad:

Undergraduate programs such as M. Tech degrees in eight streams of Engineering, B. Tech degrees in eight streams of Engineering, Postgraduate and Research degrees across all streams in Engineering, Sciences and Liberal Arts this all is provided by the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad. Total of 142 faculties engaged in teaching to departments like the design and liberal arts, science and engineering. There is very novel program knows as Fractal Academics which Is also provided by IIT-Hyderabad. IIT-Hyderabad is making great progress in research programs among all the new IITs in the country.

Admission for IIT-Hyderabad:

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is the entrance exam to get admission to undergraduate programs to IITs which are approach every year with around more than 13,00000 applicants. The ratio of the exam with acceptance is less than 2%, and it is the toughest competitive exam. For the entry to IIT-Hyderabad, the cutoffs are higher than those of other new IITs according to the past three years.
Applicants who have B. Tech/B.E. degree or the same equivalent degree and getting a GATE Gratitude Aptitude Test for Engineering score can apply for admission into the M. Tech program in IIT-Hyderabad. For about GATE around 200,000 applicants appear for about 600 seats, it is an extraordinary competitive exam, so the applicant has to prepare in every way.

Applicants who have a B. Sc degree or the same equivalent degree with 65%for General and OBS, 60% for SC/ST or the same equivalent degree and getting a Joint Admission Test to M. Sc (JAM) score can apply for admission into M. Sc program in IIT.
The applicants who are willing to join Ph. D program in IIT-Hyderabad must have a B. Tech degree with a GATE score for Engineering department or M. Tech with GATE score for Engineering departments or NET qualification for Science departments.

Ranking of IIT-Hyderabad:

In April 2016 the Ministry of Human Resource has done the National Institutional Ranking Framework and given 7^th rank to IIT-Hyderabad.

Research of IIT-Hyderabad:

The ARCI and IIT-Hyderabad with a joint venture are working on a program to make high-energy-density batteries. The DISANET project for disaster mitigation is also involved by the IIT-Hyderabad as an Indo-Jap collaboration. IIT-Hyderabad has been receiving projects from the industrial and government funding agencies such as the “ Development of High-Energy-Density Li-ion Batteries for Mobile Applications” this research is a need for electrode materials for Li-ion batteries and fabricating the batteries.

Student Activities of IIT-Hyderabad:

In IIT-Hyderabad there are two annual festival programs which are named Elan and Nvision. Elan is the technical, cultural festival of IITH which is held from 2009 to date and is held during spring in the year beginning such has JAN/FEB. The Elan festival consists of demonstrations, technical exhibitions, cultural performances, workshops, lectures and live concerts. The applicants who are competing for the activities cover design events, programming, modelings, quizzing, debates, applied engineering and robotic.

The envision festival is the inter-institute technical fest in Hyderabad. The first festival program was held in the year 2011 Nov and the fest was renamed as Advaya the named was taken to call from the IIT Guwahati festival. The meaning for this edition was the invention and the second addition was named as the vision which was done between 14-16 Oct 2012. The festival was successfully held for the third edition in the year 2013 that was also in OCT. The festivals contain a series of many technical workshops which attracts peoples from all over the globe.
