Admission Procedure
The candidates those seeking admissions in the state of West Bengal will be able to apply for CLAT national level entrance exam. Most of the colleges and institutions consider the CLAT 2025 score card for admission.
No state level entrance exam is conducted for law programmes in this state. Some law colleges offer the direct admission on the basis of the 12th class marks.

Law Admission 2025
Candidates are suggested to fulfill the eligibility criteria before filling the application form. The final admissions will be offered on verifying all the eligibility criteria required for admission.
- There will be no upper age limit to appear in the CLAT examination.
- Candidates those seeking for admission in law UG courses must pass the 12th examination with 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).
- For admission in law PG courses, candidates should have the LL.B or its equivalent degree from a recognized university/college.
- Candidates of final year qualifying exam will be also eligible to apply.
Selection Procedure
The qualified candidates will have to apply for the counselling through online or offline mode. To appear in the counselling process, candidates will have to verify the required original documents at the time of document verification procedure.
The admission will be provided on the basis of the rank secured by the candidate in the entrance exam. Candidates those apply through direct admission will be selected on the basis of merit list.
The seats will be allotted to the candidates in the participated colleges on the basis of filled choices, the rank of the candidate and availability of seats.
The respective authority will give the provisional seat allotment letter to the candidates for taking admission in the allotted colleges to them.
