CTET Exam Pattern: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) releases the CTET 2024 Exam Pattern. Candidates should undergo the exam pattern of CTET 2024 before they start their preparations. By going through the CTET 2024 exam pattern, candidates are going to be able to understand the varied sections from where the queries may be asked, candidates can understand the period of the exam, the number of queries asked within the CTET Exam, the marking scheme, etc.

As per the official CTET exam pattern 2024, the exam is going to be conducted for 2 papers – papers I and II. Candidates who want to become teachers for classes one to five should appear for paper 1 whereas candidates who want to become teachers for classes six to eight should appear for paper II.

CTET 2024 Exam Pattern Paper I (for Classes I to V) Primary Stage:

1. Child Development and Pedagogy 30 Marks 30 MCQs
2. Language II (compulsory) 30 Marks 30 MCQs
3. Language I (compulsory) 30 Marks 30 MCQs

Candidates are going to be asked thirty queries from every section which implies a complete of one hundred fifty queries are going to be asked within paper I of the CTET exam.

Each question asked within the exam can carry one mark each.
Candidates are going to be given 2 hours 30 minutes to complete the exam.
No marks are going to be subtracted for any wrong response given by the candidates.

CTET Exam Pattern 2024 Paper 2 (Elementary Stage):

CBSE in its exam pattern of CTET 2024, has conjointly mentioned the pattern of Paper-II. Paper-II can contain queries from 5 sections – Language I, Language II, Child Development and Pedagogy, Social Studies/Social Science (for Social Studies/Social science teacher only), and arithmetic and Science (for mathematics and science teacher only)

CTET 2024 Exam Pattern Paper II (for Classes VI to VIII) Elementary Stage:

1. Compulsory- Child Development & Pedagogy 30 Marks 30 MCQs
2. Language II (compulsory) 30 Marks 30 MCQs
3. Language I (compulsory) 30 Marks 30 MCQs
4. Social Studies/Social Science 60 Marks 60 MCQs
5. Mathematics and Science 60 Marks 60 MCQs

Candidates are going to be asked thirty queries of one mark every from Language I and II, and from child Development and Pedagogy whereas sixty queries are going to be asked from Social Studies/Social Science and Mathematics and Science.

Candidates are going to be given 2 hours 30 minutes to complete the exam.
No marks are going to be subtracted for any wrong response given by the candidates.
As per the CTET exam pattern 2024, paper II is going to be conducted in offline mode.

CTET 2024 Marking Scheme:

CTET Paper I consists of one hundred fifty multiple-choice queries of one hundred fifty marks. On the other hand, Paper-II conjointly consists of one hundred fifty multiple-choice queries and is assigned one hundred fifty marks. CTET Exam Day Instructions:

While heading to appear for the CTET 2024 exam, candidates ought to rigorously follow certain guidelines, some of that are mentioned below:

  • Present your CTET admit card to the invigilator together with your photo ID during the checking.
  • Carry ballpoint (Blue/Black) solely. The use of a pencil is prohibited.
