GSET Eligibility Criteria: A candidate, if capable to satisfy the eligibility requirements for GSET, can apply for the entrance exam. Please read out the minimum eligibility requirements for GSET before you apply for the exam.

GSET 2023 Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates don’t get to send any documents in support of their eligibility for the exam. There’s no need of sending the printout of the form to the concerned authority.

Candidates, who have obtained or studying within the final year or semester of a UGC recognized Master’s degree. Candidates under reserved category belong to other states (other than Gujarat state) are going to be treated as General category candidates.

Candidates can appear for GSET within the subject of their Post Graduation only. Just in case the topic isn’t mentioned within the list then they’ll appear in UGC NET / UGC – CSIR NET which is conducted twice a year.

Those have scored a minimum of 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or its equivalent exam from the institutions/universities approved by UGC in Social Science and Humanities (including languages), Sciences, computer science, and Applications are permitted to apply for GSET exam. 50% marks must be obtained by candidates who belong to SC/ST/Non-Creamy layer/Physically Handicapped/Visually Handicapped category candidates.

In case you’re studying in the first two semesters of a four-semester program or first year of two years program or in the first four semesters of a six semester’s program of Master’s degree then you’re not allowed to appear in the GSET exam.

A Ph.D. degree holder who had obtained the Master’s degree by 19th September 1991 (irrespective of publication of result) is eligible to avail relaxation by 5% in aggregate.

GSET 2023 Age Criteria:

There will be no upper age limit specified to apply for GSET for the eligibility of assistant professor.

GSET 2023 Exam Pattern:

Only objective types of queries are going to be asked in both paper one and paper two. Paper one is getting to be consisting of queries from reasoning ability, thought, comprehension, and general awareness, etc. Paper two can have queries from the topic selected by the candidates at the time of filling the application form. There will be no provision of negative marking and re-evaluations of Papers.
